An Intervening Love

Christian Living

“In this masterpiece on Christian living, Tom Stallter pours out his heart with a sensitivity and posture of compassion that is meant to lovingly guide readers on how to walk through life experiences rooted in the word of God. Insights on how to live a genuine Christ-like life in this dark and deceiving world permeate the book. Stallter seemingly leaves no stone unturned and no topic untouched as he weaves together spiritual discernment and nuggets of wisdom from Scripture related to a plethora of life encounters and situations.”

Biblical Storytelling Design

Evangelism & Missions

“As a doctor of education who is well versed in principles of pedagogy, Jim Roché provides a professional handling of storytelling, especially in oral cultures, that is second to none. This fresh look at biblical storytelling provides practical ways to craft oral biblical stories and lessons that are applicable to any culture. Roché expertly weaves the how and why of storytelling through step-by-step considerations that ultimately leads to effective curriculum design, which in turn leads to effective communication of biblical truth.”

From Conflict to Hope

Evangelism & Missions

“Tackling the most critical issues found within both Arab and Iranian cultural communities, this book is a crucial guide to understanding how to effectively minister within the Middle Eastern Eastern context. The numerous experts who contributed to the content of this book gives assurance to the reader that issues presented have been knowledgeably dealt with. A must read for those engaged in the praxis of ministry in the MENA region of the world.”

Dr.

How to Resurrect a Dead Prayer Life

Prayer & Spiritual Formation

“There are two things I like about this book written by my colleague in ministry Bill Thrasher. First, I like how practical it is. This is not a book on prayer theory or even a deep dive into prayer theology. Rather it contains very practical steps and suggestions on how one can revitalize a waning prayer life. Second, this book is deeply rooted in Scripture. Yes, Thrasher shares personal thoughts and insights, but all are biblically rooted. These two aspects woven together make for a compelling and helpful primer on how believers can revive a stagnant prayer experience.”

Knowing God to Make Him Known

Evangelism & Missions

“The unique value of this book is that all the principles Dr. Scheuerman masterfully handles for effective cross-cultural service are intertwined with the attributes of God. As such the book is theocentric in application and practice. The author’s role of teaching a wide spectrum of mission-related topics on the Bible college level makes him knowledgeable in both the importance of knowing God and making him known.”

Making Disciples Across Cultures

Evangelism & Missions

“This refreshing new look at the central mandate of missions—making disciples of the nations—masterfully weaves biblical teaching with stories and anecdotes from a veteran mission leader who is both well traveled and well informed. Over his long career in missions, Charlie has seen it all, and his creative 'slider switches' analogy helps the reader put disciplemaking in balanced perspective.”

Ministering in Honor-Shame Cultures

Evangelism & Missions

“Although Jayson Georges has written on the important topic of honor-shame in the past, this book, coauthored with Mark Baker, takes an understanding of honor-shame dynamics to another level. Every message bearer working in non-Western cultures needs to read and apply the insights and principles of this book if they are to avoid the typical cultural blunders too often committed by too many. Within are crucial insights for effective crosscultural ministry.”

Mission 3:16

Evangelism & Missions

“'John 3:16 is a beautiful summary of the entire gospel in fewer than thirty words. If the whole Bible had been destroyed or lost except for John 3:16, that would still be enough for any person to come to know God and to receive eternal life,' as Timothy George has noted. Paul Borthwick, a highly respected, well-traveled, seasoned missionary spokesperson, masterfully weaves the meaning of this core mission text with some of his most compelling mission encounters. He brings to life these wonderful words of Jesus in a fresh and practical way.”

Praying for Your Missionary

Evangelism & Missions

“Comprehensive in scope, Eddie Byun leaves no stone unturned when it comes to fully praying for all aspects of a missionary's life and work. This book is not theory. It is highly practical. As a former long-term missionary myself, as I read chapter to chapter, I could not help but think, 'Right on!'”
