“This 'jubilee' volume, by reflecting back to such a transformative chapter of modern religious history, will give inspiration and hope to many for the interfaith journey ahead . . . a vital educational resource for Christians and Jews.”

“Morgan-Wynne skillfully shows how the life of Abraham lights up the pages of the New Testament and becomes, as it were, the glue that binds the Testaments together. Scholarly, yet highly readable, the author presents a striking, nuanced exposition of the differing perspectives of New Testament writers and where they find significant meaning from this ‘man of faith,’ father of Jews and Christians. Written for all serious readers of Scripture, this book makes the case why our biblical forbears matter and in particular, how the patriarch Abraham must be foundational in shaping Christian thought and practice today.”

“The cr ème de la crème of the Wyschogrod legacy. . . Abraham's Promise is a must for theological minds that value the importance of hearing both testaments whenever Scripture is read and reflected upon.”

“Novick has authored a most welcome and highly readable guide for understanding the richness and diversity of Jewish religious thought and practice. Well researched and written by a modern Orthodox Jew, this is a valuable read for both Jews and Christians. One of Novick’s strengths is the ability to give the reader a feel for the inner spirit of Judaism and its practices. This volume may be used effectively as a classroom text or as a helpful companion to an interfaith dialogue group. This illuminating, well-balanced text offers a fresh set of Jewish eyes to explore the theological story of Judaism. I highly recommend this book.”

“Jews and evangelical Christians often pass like ‘ships in the night’ with little understanding of the other. Professor John Phelan, an experienced veteran of serious evangelical-Jewish dialogue, has provided a very timely and readable text with discussion questions and glossary. On most matters of Judaism, the author wisely draws on the perspectives of Jewish scholars, letting them speak for themselves. This approach provides valuable illumination for Christian readers on a variety of relevant issues such as revelation, commandments, prayer, the law, Jesus, Paul, Zionism, anti-Semitism, the Holocaust, and dialogue. Without acrimony that can plague sibling encounters, Phelan respectfully and effectively conveys his own evangelical commentary with clarity, honesty, and a palpable, irenic spirit. The author helps define the components and complexities of Judaism and some of the major challenges and responses Jews have faced throughout their oft-imperiled history. Phelan has provided a valuable, carefully researched book that explores areas Jews and evangelical Christians have in common and also where they differ. His illuminating work is must reading for those who wish to think more deeply and thoughtfully about why these respective siblings came to separate. But it also reveals how today there are some positive signs each sibling is seeking to listen to the other, shun caricatures, and grow in understanding, mutual respect, and sincere friendship.”

Biblical Studies & Commentaries
“Michael Tupek provides his readers with a very accessible study in biblical theology. Of modest length yet filled with relevant biblical texts, this work upholds a high view of Scripture in demonstrating the close theological relation between the Old Testament and the New Testament. The author's emphasis on the grace of God is refreshing as is his insistence that all Christians must begin theologizing with the Jewish Scriptures. A welcome addition to the field.”
