John Howard Yoder

Theology

“I have wept with one sexually assaulted by Yoder, and her story often blocks me from reading him. Yet he deserves to be read; more to the point, Weaver's analysis of Yoderian theology begs to be read. This book forthrightly addresses Yoder's abhorrent actions, freeing me to not only engage but ultimately embrace Weaver's compelling case for a Yoderian theology persistently rooted in the Jesus of the New Testament.”

The Gift of Ethics

Ethics, Culture & Social Issues

“Trevor Bechtel doesn't just tell us that stories are foundational for ethical thinking and living, he shows us. In so doing, he shares with us not only the sharp clarity of his thought, but also the messy reality of his life. By the end, he hasn't demanded authority for his position but by cultivating a collaborative relationship with his readers he's earned it.”
