A Table in the Wilderness

Biblical Studies & Commentaries

“Michelle Stinson offers a methodologically sophisticated and literarily sensitive analysis of Psalm 78. Her focus on the multidimensional aspects of food language and its rhetorical potential results in a rich and compelling explanation of this complex poetic presentation of Israel’s story, accounting for its structure, imagery, and connections with other psalms.”

How Did They Read the Prophets?

Biblical Studies & Commentaries

“In this detailed study, Michael Shepherd clearly shows how the scribes who wrote and transmitted the prophetic books were exegetes, and how the early readers of the prophetic books were attuned to this exegetical activity. Modern readers of the Bible will find a wealth of valuable information in this volume, which is full of insightful examples of how ancient authors understood Israel’s Scriptures.”
