10 Answers for Atheists

Apologetics

“Alex McFarland is one of today’s most sought-after speakers on Christian apologetics. After speaking on countless radio programs and on university campuses, and after having engaged in several public debates with atheists, he is well qualified to write on the subject matter of this book. A lot of apologetics books have been written, but few are as accessible to the layperson as those written by Alex McFarland.”

10 Answers for Skeptics

Apologetics

“Distinguished Research Professor, Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary Alex McFarland has written yet another volume that is both engaging and enlightening. After reading this book, you will have a better sense of why skeptics think and feel the way they do. Not only will you be able to see through the smoke screen of their objections and catch a glimpse of what’s really troubling them, but you’ll find yourself becoming more compassionate as you share the truth of the gospel of Christ. This is an enjoyable read.”

A Prophet Mighty in Deed and Word

Biblical Studies & Commentaries

“Jeff Kennedy argues persuasively that Jesus was not only literate, he was also a capable public reader and expositor of Scripture. This is not to contend that Jesus possessed the high degree of literacy held by many Roman and Jewish elites. However, it does contribute to the case that Luke’s portrayal of Jesus reading and expounding on Scripture in the synagogue in Nazareth is likely historical.”

Debating God’s Existence

Apologetics

“This book feels like sitting at the table with deep thinkers on both sides of the God question—and actually getting somewhere. The book doesn’t try to force conclusions but invites readers to think more clearly, listen more charitably, and disagree more honestly. It’s thoughtful without being stuffy, deep without being preachy, and respectful without pulling punches. I recommend it to anyone who wants more light than heat in these conversations.”

Evidence That Demands a Verdict

Apologetics

“to know whether there truly is enough evidence to show that the Christian message is true. As its title suggests, it presents a case to that end, which must be considered carefully by anyone who is truly seeking an answer to the ultimate question of worldviews.”

Five Views on the Gospel

Theology

“The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is near. Repent and believe in the gospel” (Mark 1:15). What exactly is the “gospel”? “Gospel” is a term meaning “good news” in the original Greek. What exactly is the “good news” preached by Jesus and his apostles? If you were asked this question, how would you define “gospel”? The answer is not necessarily a simple one. For the New Testament authors often seem to define “gospel” somewhat differently. It should not surprise us, therefore, to observe differences in how five scholars in this volume present and defend defend their understanding of it. This volume is a wonderful contribution to the discussion and will be a valuable resource, not only for theologians and pastors but also for those of us who want to see lives powerfully transformed by the “gospel.”

Grand Central Question

Apologetics

“I like this book for two major reasons. In these pages, Abdu examines the major worldviews fairly and provides a fresh approach to showing how the Christian gospel best answers worldview questions pertaining to value, purpose, suffering and the greatness of God. Moreover, Abdu is a former practicing Muslim and attorney who has successfully field-tested in public forums the ideas presented in this book. So, readers are receiving content that is as sound and practical as it is interesting. An enjoyable read!”

Introduction To Bibliology

Apologetics

“Jefrey Breshears has given us a wonderful resource that is relevant for addressing many questions about the Bible being raised today. As a historian, Breshears goes where the hard data points--and no further. This book is well-written and is recommended for students from the level of high school through graduate school and beyond.”

Living Footnotes in the Gospel of Luke

Biblical Studies & Commentaries

“Luuk van de Weghe has written an important volume. As readers progress through it, they may get the initial impression that this work is a mosaic of various evidences of which several, although interesting, are of no great significance. However, as they read on, they will see that all of these evidences add up to a cumulative case that is quite compelling. Much in this work is original and contributes to the case for the third evangelist’s use of eyewitnesses in the research and composition of his Life of Jesus.”

Risen Indeed

Apologetics

“There is no one―no one―alive today or in the past, who has researched the matter of the historicity of the resurrection of Jesus than Professor Gary Habermas. He has reflected on the matter for six decades! In addition to being the preeminent scholar on the topic, he is one of the very finest people I know and is loved and respected by Christians and even many skeptics.”

Sherlock: The Case of the Empty Tomb

Apologetics

“Suspenseful and entertaining, Ewert's Sherlock leads readers on a trail to discover what really happened to Jesus. Did he actually rise from the dead? What is the evidence, and is it conclusive? Whether you agree with Sherlock's conclusion or not, you will enjoy the story!”

Slow to Judge

Evangelism & Missions

“We live in a post-Christian culture. Militant atheism is growing on the Internet. Immoral lifestyles are being normalized, and those who fail to conform are labeled as “judgmental,” “intolerant,” “unloving,” and “(fill in the blank)ophobe.” Some have even lost their jobs merely for expressing an opinion contrary to the new moral current. What is the proper response of the Christ-follower who desires to communicate the redemptive message of God’s kingdom effectively yet without compromise? If you are looking for an answer to this question, you have picked up the right book. David Capes is respected all over the world for his fair and careful scholarship in the field of New Testament studies. But this volume is not an academic work. Capes leaves the classroom and invites you into his home where he shares wisdom gained from years of practical experience interacting collegially and on a regular basis with those of different faiths and world views. The pages of this book are filled with spiritual nuggets presented on a platter of winsomeness that readers will find both satisfying and effective. This book will guide you to become the effective witness for Christ you desire!”

Surviving and Thriving in Seminary

Christian Living

“Attending seminary is an experience that is both challenging and rewarding. Daniel Zacharias and Benjamin Forrest have written this book to guide seminarians through those challenges and get the most out of their seminary experience. Whether you are a young seminarian who is able to devote all of your time to attending classes and studying or are struggling to keep your sanity while juggling the responsibilities of seminary, family, and job, you will find this book immensely helpful!”

The Story of Reality

Apologetics

“to Christianity for new Christians, for older Christians who’ve never grasped the “big picture,” and even for non-Christians wondering if the Christian worldview really makes sense. Greg Koukl masterfully explains and defends what Christianity is—an accurate description of reality from the beginning of time through its end, and not just one of many valid worldviews—and he does so with the simplicity and clarity that is the hallmark of Koukl’s writings. This book is a fresh alternative to the distorted picture of Christianity fostered by the politically correct crowd that is naively accepted by so many.”

Unimaginable

Christian Living

“For the past few decades, Western society has been on a path to purge itself of Christian influence. If the trend continues, will progressives want what they get? Engaging and informative, this timely volume considers what our world and even modern Western society might look like without the tremendously positive impact of Christianity. I love the concept! Christian and non-Christian readers alike will walk away with a conviction similar to that of militant atheist Richard Dawkins: Christianity may very well be the barrier preventing the world from becoming a place where freedom and justice are things of the past.”
