Her reflections, intertwined with personal experience and the truths of the Christian faith, clearly demonstrate her own lived resilience, patience, and hope. Wilderness experiences are inevitable. Barber's words assure you that finding yourself in the wilderness is not a result of steps on a mistaken path but are instead important and defining moments of a life lived with purpose.”
How Neighborhoods Make Us Sick
Ethics, Culture & Social Issues
“At a time where words like poverty, injustice, mental health issues, trauma, and the like have become familiar to our common justice narrative, we are in need of a deeper dive into how these systemic barriers truly impact communities. Veronica and Breanna have generously invited us into their realm by sharing their experiences and learned expertise in an effort to help illuminate the need for deeper awareness and collective action toward the flourishing of poor communities.”
My Body Is Not a Prayer Request
Church Leadership & Ministry
“Beautifully written and vulnerably shared, Amy’s message cuts to the core of ableism, whose culture has been allowed to roam unchecked in the church, perpetuating harm. Kenny calls us to be a more inclusive people, graciously and honestly helping us learn new theological insights, practices, and ways forward together.”

The Gospel of Peace in a Violent World
Ethics, Culture & Social Issues
“As a faith-rooted community activist and organizer, I have lamented how little the church has done to educate Christians in either their rich theology of biblical justice and shalom or to equip them to appropriately engage deep injustices in our world. In The Gospel of Peace in a Violent World, the Graveses have assembled a diverse team of relevant, scholarly contributors who speak to this missing theology and praxis of Christian discipleship. With no-stone-left-unturned vigor, this important and essential resource grounds foundational and formational theological truth with timeless and recent historical application, practically compelling Christians toward seeking a more just and peaceful world.”
Children & Youth
“To Mend the World sets forth a necessary vision not just for youth ministry but for the church! Rich in its theological framework and cultural relevance, Kurt Rietema and Jason Lief reorient our dreams for a younger generation by inviting us to cultivate a much-needed yet missing space: where young people dream, are culturally informed, and act on those dreams to make their communities a better place. In so doing, they demonstrate their faith in Christ's restorative gospel by actively joining him in his ongoing redemptive work in the world.”
