A Corruption of Consequence

Ethics, Culture & Social Issues

Foreword

Anyone Can Be Saved

Theology

“Anyone Can Be Saved critically underscores the world's mission efforts. This book shows why God's sovereignty is left unaffected by the doctrine of the freedom of man and establishes the regeneration of the sinner as a result of repentance and faith. David Allen's chapter, 'The Atonement of Christ,' is again, in my estimation, an unanswerable argument for anybody who takes the Great Commission as a serious mandate from God. This book is essential reading.”

Christianity on Trial

Apologetics

“Trial lawyers are often noted for incisive analysis, broad knowledge and the ability to spot the weakness in the opposition's argument. Mark Lanier demonstrates every one of these instincts in Christianity on Trial. His expertise in using the biblical languages uniquely qualifies him to ask—and answer—all the really tough questions. As a fresh assessment of the intellectual validity of the Christian, this book will delight pastors, theologians, church members and even critics.”

Fullerism as Opposed to Calvinism

Theology

“A. Chadwick Mauldin has reexamined the highly influential work of Andrew Fuller, famous Baptist pastor, theologian, and preacher of missions. In this critically important book, Mauldin focuses on the growing differences that came to exist between Fuller and his followers on the one hand and stronger Calvinists on the other. Mauldin shows this development to be not only a result of Fuller's interest in missions but also the result of his grappling with the text of Scripture. Anyone interested in the history of missions in general or Baptist ecclesiology and theology in particular needs to read this book.”

In the Beginning God Created the Country Church

Church Leadership & Ministry

“What comes through in 'God Created The Country Church' is the driving compassion of a man's heart to see others come to Christ coupled with an earnest conviction that all pretenses need to be laid aside and that integrity needs to be practiced by the church of God. This integrity of heart committed to missions and evangelism Butch Ikels has modeled in one of the most unique churches of which I am aware. I commend this volume to you as an example of how such should be done.”

Jonathan Edwards on Worship

Theology

“Early America was turbulent but full of adventure and excitement. The intellectual and spiritual engagement of Jonathan Edwards in the midst of that culture could not possibly have had worldwide implications without the remarkable grasp Edwards had of what it meant to walk with God in personal and corporate worship. Ted Rivera has captured in this volume the pathos of that walk with God. This is a unique volume.”

One Nation Under God?

Ethics, Culture & Social Issues

“There are always some who have wanted to make America a Christian nation from its inception till the present. Others on the opposite extreme wish to deny the obvious biblical influences on our social order. John Wilsey gets it right. Though America may never have been a 'Christian republic,' as few other countries in history, it has felt the impact of the biblical witness. One Nation Under God? sets the record straight. Do not miss this book.”

Palestine is Coming

Ethics, Culture & Social Issues

“A fascinating book of history, eschatology, and biblical studies. . . makes several important contributions. . . very accurate history of the conflict. . . . Zarley's proposal for a Palestinian state is, in fact, just about the only workable solution imaginable.”

Power in the Pulpit

Preaching & Worship

“The criticisms I hear about expository preaching are in reality criticisms about "boring preaching." The greatest preaching in the earth is still captivating, prophetic, invigorating, Christ-honoring exposition. Vines and Shaddix tell you how to do that in a way that will win the lost and revive the saints. If you preach, do not miss this book.”

Pure Worship

History & Biography

“In the midst of numerous books on the worship wars, how refreshing to find one based on history, fact, and deep theological reflection. Yet, Pure Worship is instantly readable and fascinating.”

Reasons for Belief

Theology

“Reasons for Belief is vintage Geisler—crisp, correct, concise, and courageous. Written for the Christian who needs answers, not encyclopedias.”

The Beginning of Baptist Ecclesiology

History & Biography

“In this perceptive volume, Jones has demonstrated that, while Thomas Helwys led a missionary people and wrote one of the most important books on liberty of conscience ever written by any Baptist anywhere, there is, nevertheless, a significant theological contribution in Helwys that has often been overlooked . . . This salient read will leave the reader with a far more comprehensive understanding of the development of Baptist work.”

The Collected Writings of James Leo Garrett Jr., 1950–2015: Volume One

Theology

“Passing by an encyclopedia of church history in my library the other day, I had the thought, ‘There is the mind of James Leo Garrett.’ On the most important matters and in the extent to which he grasped the whole of Baptist and church history, I believe this to be one of the greatest gifts ever given to the Lord’s church. Southwestern Seminary is forever in debt to this gracious Christian.”

The Truth About Same-Sex Marriage

Ethics, Culture & Social Issues

“With the mind of a scholar and the heart of a pastor, Erwin Lutzer has in succinct fashion called evangelicals to stringent but loving action before it is too late for our country. This is the book that should be in the hands of every church member.”

Urban Impact

Church Leadership & Ministry

Foreword

“I can tell you that the one chapter on the absent father, the greatest problem in our society, would be worth the purchase price of the book and every second of the valuable time that it takes to read it. If I could only read one book this year on evangelism and especially how to reach the teeming masses of people in the inner cities of our world, it would be this book by John Thompson. This will change not only your life but the lives of thousands of others also.”

Vital Issues in the Inerrancy Debate

Theology

“From within the Washington beltway somewhere there arose the sentiment that 'eternal vigilance is the price of liberty.' What is the case politically is even more the case theologically. As this book illustrates, the resounding standards established at the close of the twentieth century by the ICBI, Missouri Synod Lutherans, and Southern Baptists are now subject to reinterpretation by those who seem to prefer a priesthood of scholars over a priesthood of believers. David Farnell and his fellow editors have responded in these pages, holding high the standard of the full reliability of God's word. This is a crucial volume for a day of flagging confidence in the Bible.”
