Creating the Canon

Biblical Studies & Commentaries

“As one treks into the rugged terrain of New Testament canon studies, a daunting range of issues looms on the horizon. Benjamin Laird maps out the general contours of current scholarship and then proposes his own path forward. His study provides a panoramic view of canon-related considerations but also raises significant questions concerning the relationship between apostolicity and the ecclesial recognition of divinely inspired texts.”

Good Arguments

Church Leadership & Ministry

“Improving one's critical thinking and persuasive argumentation skills is well worth the time and effort. This volume is effectively designed to refine both abilities. I therefore confidently recommend a careful perusal as a worthy investment.”

Recovering Historical Christology for Today's Church

Theology

“Eight master guides chart a path through the complex and sometimes confusing terrain of early Christological developments. As they navigate from Colossians to Chalcedon, they describe ditches to avoid and significant forks in the road. Throughout the journey, they set their sights upon the final destination of contemporary application. In the end, they lead the reader safely home to a robust Christology for the twenty-first century.”

Rediscovering the Church Fathers

Theology

“This gem of a study sparkles with polished clarity. Michael Haykin has skillfully unearthed buried treasures among early church leaders. As an experienced guide, he has drawn from his own personal journey and decades of scholarly research. He presents valuable Patristic insights into apologetic engagement, missional work, spiritual formation, use of Scripture, theological discourse, communal worship, personal piety, and approaches to suffering and martyrdom. From the apostolic fathers to the apostle to Ireland, Haykin’s investigations masterfully apply classical wisdom to contemporary concerns.”

The Apostolic Fathers

History & Biography

“Berding's historical novelization brings characters to life, putting flesh and bones on a skeletal framework of early Christianity. Through a creativity rooted in competent scholarship, he draws readers into the socio-historical world of the Apostolic Fathers. His narrative introduction is both enjoyable and informative, both imaginative and insightful. The fictional storyline is a spoonful of sugar, but the pedagogical nourishment is substantial.”

The Letter of the Roman Church to the Corinthian Church from the Era of Domitian: 1 Clement

Biblical Studies & Commentaries

“Many of Harnack’s analyses and insights into 1 Clement retain their value in today’s marketplace of historical inquiry. Cerone’s adept translation has done a great service to Anglophone scholarship, by converting this wealth into usable currency. Critical readers will discover a worthy return on investment.”
