Ethics, Culture & Social Issues
“This volume brings to light one of the most forgotten or suppressed themes in white churches and their theologies, namely, the centrality of land in the formation of a people’s nationality and religious identity. For Palestinians, members of First Nations, Latinx, and South Africans, their lands have been and are being conquered, occupied, and abused. These people are made into migrants, refugees, landless, and homeless in their own lands. The essays collected here wake our Christian conscience to the biblical truth that there is no paradise without garden, no heaven without earth, and no justice until the lands are returned to their rightful owners, and everything to God the Creator.”
Arts & Literature
“In the popular mind, fact and fiction about the Catholic priesthood do not simply exist side by side but feed on each other. We owe Ambrose Mong a debt of gratitude as he disentangles real-life stories and the imaginative world of novels. What emerges from Mong’s profound analysis is the figure of the priest as a flesh-and-blood human person who, though a sinner, can become holy through suffering and God’s love and mercy. The book is a must-read after the clergy sex abuse scandal.”
Trinitarian Responses to Worldliness
Theology
“A veritable theological tour de force, Heejun Yang’s book offers an insightful and nuanced overview of contemporary Western theologies of the Trinity and evaluates them from the perspective of Korean theology. From this theological investigation, Dr. Yang shows that a God-centered understanding of the world will help transform Christianity into a global but nondominating religion. I strongly recommend this book for those interested in the practical dimension of Trinitarian theology.”
Church Leadership & Ministry
“In a breathtaking tour de force of scholarship, Graham Joseph Hill offers in his book a panoramic view of the major paradigm shifts in the study of contemporary Christianity as a world religion. I strongly recommend this volume for undergraduate and graduate courses on missiology and ecclesiology and for general readers who want to understand what is happening to Christianity today.”
