Foreword

“Some poets intimidate readers by showing how clever they are. B. J. turns his readers into friends. He shares their enthusiasm, makes jokes, possesses a sense of rhythm, and delivers a natural authority on the page. Above all he chooses accessible subjects. We too share his love for—as well as frustration about—Pakistan. We too know the feeling of not being able to get up in the morning. We too are befuddled by cricket.”
