A Democratic and Republican Faith

Ethics, Culture & Social Issues

“As the great crisis theologians of the previous century saw all too well, societies are at risk when faith speaks on behalf of political factions instead of drawing from its own spiritual traditions to shape the faithful and impact the public sphere. In this worthy contribution to the conversation on public theology, Ray Roberts applies this insight to the current American moment of Protestant disarray and political fractioning, outlining a public theology that drinks deeply from the wells of the church’s theological teachings in the interest of the common good.”

Homo Florens?

Theology

“Theologically rigorous, with extensive footnotes that reveal the scholarship that lies beneath the accessible prose, this book brilliantly weaves together the work of well-known theologians from across the globe to offer rich insights on happiness and flourishing, imbedded in Christian discourses on salvation. In this significant contribution to the Christian soteriological discussion, Nadia Marais shows why she is considered one of the most exciting voices to emerge in South African theology in recent years.”

Sexual Reformation?

Ethics, Culture & Social Issues

“This volume of essays by a younger generation of South African theologians grapples with issues such as gender violence, reproductive issues, rape culture, queer identities, marriage, social media, the role of faith in public life, and social transformation. The book reflects the complex, multicultural context of the modern South African nation in fascinating ways but contains insights that transcend national and cultural borders. A must-have for the shelf of any ethicist!”
