Biblical Studies & Commentaries
“Ray McAllister provides a comprehensive analysis of the surprising array of passages dealing with blindness in the Hebrew Bible. As one who is blind, the author displays remarkable sensitivity to the issues related to this disability. He adroitly lays bare the actual and ideal positions of the blind in ancient Israel, synthesizes a profound biblical theology of blindness, and offers practical implications of his research for dealing with contemporary issues of blindness and other disabilities. I highly recommend this book to all who seek to understand blindness and other disabilities from a biblical perspective.”
Old Testament Law for Christians
Biblical Studies & Commentaries
“Gane adroitly explores the nature and purpose of Old Testament law in its biblical and ancient Near Eastern contexts and sets forth a biblically based, practical method for applying the values and principles of Old Testament laws to Christian life today. He convincingly confirms the basic continuity between the Testaments while recognizing valid elements of discontinuity. A must-read for layperson and scholar alike.”
The Biblical “One Flesh” Theology of Marriage as Constituted in Genesis 2:24
Biblical Studies & Commentaries
“Gehring has produced a work of weighty substance in biblical theology. His main proposition--that the 'one flesh' ideal in Genesis 2:24 applies not only to the literal (human) marital relationship but to the spiritual (divine-human) covenant between God and his people--is well defended. Gehring goes beyond other scholars in his careful analysis of many passages, uncovering intricate literary (chiastic and block parallel) structures and exploring important intertextual linkages. I highly recommend this book!”
Bible Studies & Devotionals
“In this reading guide, Cockerill has masterfully and passionately showcased the crown jewels discovered during his lifetime of exploration in the book of Hebrews. These rich meditations . . . provide a clear and concise guide for a life-changing seven-week journey. Listen afresh to the inspired sermon/letter of ‘the pastor.’ This is a journey not to be missed, and never to be forgotten!”
