Breaking the Silence

Counseling, Grief & Mental Health

“Lender does a phenomenal job describing a vast variety of the forms of abuses and sharing what potential outcomes, negative coping mechanisms, and developmental flaws can occur to youth who experience abuse. The lack of education on this topic is what is hindering the healthy recovery of victims. This book does a great job identifying what areas perpetrators target, what victims may be thinking and feeling, and the disconnect of involvement from caring individuals. Sticking our heads in the sand is not a way to address this area of life and Lender brings it vividly to the forefront. We must help people cope and deal with the roots of their problems, abuse or anything else, before we can address the actual physical issue we may see.”
