Stephen F. Olford

A Biblical Theology of Material Possessions

Biblical Studies & Commentaries

“On a global scale, researcher David Barrett estimates that Christians give 0.017% of their income to missions. The reading and studying of this book should make a difference, not only in worldwide evangelism but in your life and mine.”

Believing God for His Best

Marriage, Family & Relationships

“I welcome the privilege of writing a few words concerning my good friend Dr. Bill Thrasher's new book, Believing God for His Best. Nothing is more needed in our contemporary Christian world today. With the tangled marriages, broken homes, and divorce rates, one wonders what can possibly be the solution. Needless to say, the only one is returning to God's blueprint as recorded in His Holy Word. I am grateful that he has drawn on the experience of how God brought my sweetheart, Heather, and me into the vital union of marriage, now going on our 57th year! It seems inconceivable that God would initiate such a sacred ordinance as the marriage of a man and a woman without giving instructions on how He plans to bring this about to fulfill His glory, as well as His purpose, not only in mutual pleasure, but in bringing precious little lives into a Christian home, and then a full spiritual life. For this reason, I congratulate him on his book in general, and the privilege of having our names included in his treatment of this delicate, but important subject in the hour in which we live. May God grant the book a wide readership, especially amongst our young people.”

Elders and Leaders

Church Leadership & Ministry

“Whatever your denominational orientation might happen to be, this book is a "must read." Our dear friend, teacher, leader, and scholar, Gene Getz, has given us his Magnum Opus in this carefully researched and written book on Elders and Leaders. The crisis in leadership in our churches today is at an all-time high. What the Bible and especially the New Testament has to say on this subject is clearly, comprehensively, and convincingly spelled out with supporting exegesis and Scriptural references. Not everyone will agree with everything presented, but all will find biblical, practical, and helpful teaching on leadership. We warmly and urgently commend this book to pastors and serious students of God's Word.”

Living the Life God Has Planned

Christian Living

“Living the Life God Has Planned is a book for everyone. Gender and age exclude no one who desires to find, follow, and finish God's plan for their life. (Eph. 2:10). Since the highest end of God's will is God Himself, relationship with God through His Son and by His Spirit is the only way to "prove what is good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God" (Rom. 12:2). My dear friend, Dr. Bill Thrasher, expounds and exemplifies both doctrine and delight of knowing and doing God's will in daily life. In a day of confusion, purposelessness, and frustration in the world--and, alas, in the church as well--we have in this book a clear guide for all of us. Thank you, Bill Thrasher, for an excellent treatment of a subject that demands the attention of all who desire to live for the glory of God alone. I pray that this book will bless the multitudes who seek God's best for their lives.”

Make It Home Before Dark

Christian Living

“Make It Home Before Dark is the fascinating title of an important book by my very dear friend and colleague Dr. Crawford Loritts. It is important because it deals with the fundamental condition for holiness now and heaven to come. The key word is repentance -- a doctrine rarely preached or practiced today. It is necessary for saints and sinners alike. Jesus opened His ministry with the call to repentance. Peter did the same at the birthing of the church and Paul launched his missionary work with the message of "repentance toward God and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ." I thank God for this biblical and balanced treatment of a truth that must be preached if we are to see revival and spiritual awakening in our day. I commend this book to readers everywhere with the passionate expectation of blessing to come!”

Revival Fire

History & Biography

“pastor, lay leader, or church member should fail to read this book. I heartily commend it. Throughout Scripture “fire” is a symbol of God’s presence (Gen. 15:17; Ex. 3:2; 13:21-22, et al.), God’s power (Ex. 19:18; 24:17; 1 Kings 18:24, 38), and God’s purity (Isa. 6:1-6). It is not without significance that the words purify and purge come from the Greek word for fire. What a call this is to Christian people to purify themselves by the fire of the Word of God (Jer. 5:14) and the fire of the Spirit of God (Acts 2:3) to be the instruments of a mighty conflagration that burns the barriers to revival and brings the blessing of revival! It was Dr. W. Graham Scroggie who once said that “there never has been a spiritual revival which did not begin with an acute sense of sin. We are never prepared for a spiritual advance until we see the necessity of getting rid of that which has been hindering it, and that, in the sight of God, is sin.” God’s promise is clear: “If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land” (2 Chron. 7:14 NKJV). Revival fire—that’s it! God stir us to pray, “Oh, that You would rend the heavens! That You would come down! That the mountains might shake at Your presence—as fire burns brushwood, as fire causes water to boil—to make Your name known to Your adversaries, that the nations may tremble at Your presence!” (Isa. 64:1-2 NKJV).”
