Mormon Hermeneutics

World Religions

“Anyone who has engaged in serious conversation with a Mormon friend or colleague may well have struggled to understand how a group that claims devout loyalty to Scripture can hold a range of beliefs that seem quite at variance with historic Christianity. This rigorous but fair-minded and accessible analysis of Mormon hermeneutics opens a much-needed window onto an interpretive approach that for too long has remained obscure. I know of no other book like it. It deserves a wide reading.”

The Concise New International Dictionary of New Testament Theology and Exegesis

Biblical Studies & Commentaries

“A generation of students and pastors will treasure this highly useful and user-friendly distillation of Moisés Silva’s excellent New International Dictionary of New Testament Theology and Exegesis. Scholars may still want the four-volume original, but even many of them may prefer Beetham’s thoughtful condensation for everything except the most technical work. There is nothing really comparable to Silva’s work for its combination of linguistic savvy and theological acumen. All of that passes into this abridgement undiminished; the brevity enhances rather than dims the luster of the original.”
