Biblical Studies & Commentaries

Interpreting Prophetic Literature
Biblical Studies & Commentaries
“Nogalski’s book is the product of years of practical teaching experience, as well as scholarly reflection upon these ancient texts. Students coming to the exegesis of prophetic literature for the first time will find here a wealth of useful and immediately applicable information concerning how prophetic literature works, from its characteristic compositional elements to its historical settings, collection, and editing.”
Biblical Studies & Commentaries
“Christians often get their Bible in tiny snips: a verse in a devotional reading or a passage shared from the pulpit on a Sunday morning. As a result, they miss the flow of the whole of Scripture. Smith and Pearl introduce the reader to the web of interconnections that make the Bible’s verses and images meaningful, and without which isolated passages are readily warped to say whatever a preacher or leader wants them to say.”
