Duh-Votions

Bible Studies & Devotionals

“You Don t Have to Be Deep to Hear God s Voice! It s so simple! So simple a shallow person can understand it. What I ve found out about God is that he is totally trustworthy, and I can relax in his plans. And besides that, all he wants is are you ready for this? for me to be his person. Just be his person, for heaven s sake! All I can say to that is, Duh! Who knows? Next I may be writing a six-volume Bible commentary!”

Bible Studies & Devotionals

“I may as well tell you because you'll figure it out anyway: I'm not that deep. I'm shallow. But I'm deep for a shallow person. What I've found out about God is that he is totally trustworthy, and I can relax in his plans. And besides that, all he wants is -- Are you ready for this? -- for me to be his person. Just be his person, for heaven's sake! All I can say to that is, Duh! Who knows? Next I may be writing a six-volume Bible commentary!”

Reconstructing Natalie

Fiction

“I’m crazy about Natalie! She’s funny. She’s smart! She’s real! She has a crush on Johnny Depp for heaven’s sake! And, by the way, she just happens to have breast cancer. Laura Jensen Walker doesn’t dodge real-life issues. Bad stuff happens, but it doesn’t consume her characters. On the contrary! It makes them more interesting! There’s an energetic flow that moves Natalie (and the reader) joyfully beyond the crisis to experience sweet romance and deep fulfillment.”
