Models and Methods for Youth and Young Adult Ministry

Children & Youth

“Arthur Canales situates youth and young adult ministry squarely within the world of practical and pastoral theology, wherein the experience on the ground is intrinsic to naming the theological hope of the ministry. By suggesting models, naming the theological objectives and pastoral outcomes of each, Canales encourages a serious consideration among scholars and practitioners to recognize that the how and the what of ministry are clearly connected to the why.”

Pastoral Care to and Ministry with LGBTQ Youth and Young Adults

Church Leadership & Ministry

“Canales’ work . . . offers a clear but critical review of the Catholic Church’s official teachings on homosexuality, while challenging elements of those teachings as unjust and potentially dangerous. His theological and pastoral responses to LGBTQ youth and young adults are valuable for Catholic congregations, bringing this urgent discussion to ministers in a manner that is both reflective and resourceful.”
