“Wayne Grudem’s book on Free Grace is the best I have read on the subject, and I commend it with enthusiasm for several reasons. First, it is biblically saturated, showing us again and again what the Scriptures say. Second, Grudem’s explanations are so clear that virtually any Christian can read and understand this book. Third, the book is amazingly kind, generous, and charitable. Grudem isn’t on the attack. He loves those with whom he disagrees, and that love shines through the book. Fourth, Grudem recognizes the issue is massively important since it has to do with the nature of the gospel we preach and proclaim. He argues convincingly that works are a necessary fruit of salvation, which doesn’t threaten free grace but upholds what the great Reformers taught about salvation.”

“Todd Chipman’s 10 Questions About the Bible is an ideal book to put in the hands of those who are new to reading the Bible. This book is faithful doctrinally and full of down-to-earth and godly advice for reading the Bible. It answers many practical questions that strike us as we come to the Bible. Most importantly, Chipman reminds us that we read the Bible to know God, to experience salvation, and to live our lives to the glory of God.”
A Basic Guide to Biblical Theology
Biblical Studies & Commentaries
“Understanding the Bible may seem daunting since it was composed over many centuries with an astonishing literary variety. Alan Thompson has provided an accessible, wise, clear, and faithful summary of some of the key themes in the biblical story. The length of the Bible and the diversity of historical situations addressed may hinder us from grasping where the story is going. Reading Thompson will help students, laypeople, and pastors see the larger framework and discern the overall structure and content of the Scriptures. It is a wonderful resource for a book club or for a small-group study or for a discipling relationship with another believer.”
A Basic Guide to Interpreting the Bible
Biblical Studies & Commentaries
“Bob Stein is a wise and seasoned interpreter of Scripture, and these qualities are on full display in this wonderfully practical book on how to interpret the Bible. Readers will find here a sound hermeneutical approach that is applied to a variety of genres in the Scriptures. This is an ideal book both for university and seminary courses and for laypersons who desire a guide to understanding the Scriptures.”
A Biblical-Theological Introduction to the New Testament
Theology
“Students and pastors, not to mention laypeople, usually find introductions to the New Testament writings to be rather dry and sterile. But this introduction by RTS authors has a different quality since it focuses on the theology and content of the New Testament. Those who study the New Testament want to gain a better understanding of its message, and thus this volume will prove to be an immense help for pastors, students, laypeople, and even scholars.”
A Handbook of New Testament Exegesis
Biblical Studies & Commentaries
“Blomberg and Foutz Markley have written a wonderfully clear and accessible handbook for New Testament exegesis. The book covers the various steps of the exegetical process and gives sane and sage advice throughout. What makes the book especially illuminating and interesting are the many examples from the New Testament that illustrate the principles discussed. Professors and students will be grateful for a work that is exegetically rigorous, theologically informed, and practically useful.”
A New Testament Biblical Theology
Biblical Studies & Commentaries
“Certainly Beale has written his magnum opus, in which he deftly integrates the Scriptures via the new creation theme. The use of the Old Testament in the New Testament forms the backbone of this work so that readers grasp how the storyline of Scripture coheres. We stand in debt to the author for his detailed and profound unfolding of New Testament theology.”

“Piper points us to Scripture—its authority, its historical accuracy, its total truthfulness, and especially its beauty and power. The Scriptures are beautiful and powerful because they disclose to us, as the Spirit opens our hearts, the loveliness and glory of Jesus Christ. Here we find compelling arguments for the truthfulness of the Scriptures and profound meditations on the stunning glory of God. The book captures and expresses the truth of Peter’s words in John 6:68, ‘Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.’”
A Theology of Paul and His Letters
Biblical Studies & Commentaries
“Doug Moo has had a distinguished career as an outstanding commentator on the Pauline epistles. Now we are treated to his theology of Paul. All the virtues that characterize Moo’s work are on display here, including thorough research, careful exegesis, theological synthesis, and balanced judgment. Moo learns from and interacts with all sectors of scholarship, and he invariably respects other viewpoints. At the same time, he presents his own views with arguments and evidence. Moo’s A Theology of Paul and His Letters is marked by a close reading of the text, and he warns against constructs of Paul’s theology that are imposed upon the text instead of being derived from the text. We are treated to both a theology of each Pauline letter (and he includes all thirteen letters as authentically Pauline) and also a synthesis of Paul’s theology. As is often the case in Pauline theologies, the importance of the “already and not yet” as well as “union with Christ” are stressed. Moo also highlights “realm” in Paul’s thought, featuring it as one of the key Pauline themes. This is a crucial book for understanding Paul’s theology, and I am confident that Moo’s work will impact scholarship for years to come.”

“The Reformed view of sanctification has resonated with me for a long time. More importantly, it is biblically rooted, realistic, hopeful, and doesn’t fall into the error of perfectionism. Now we have a wonderfully accessible presentation of the reformed view of sanctification. The scriptural support for a progressive view of sanctification is persuasively made. The realistic struggle that characterizes our lives is set forth, and the hope we have in Christ Jesus is proclaimed. I was encouraged and convicted in reading this work.”

“Brian Tabb takes us back to the sources, showing us the fulfillment of the Scriptures in Jesus’s ministry. What stands out is the relationship between Christology and mission. Often these two themes are studied separately, but Tabb shows us that they are intertwined. This deft and insightful study shines a fresh light on what God accomplished through his Spirit in Christ, and it inspires us today when we recognize that God’s great promises are still being fulfilled.”
An Interpretive Lexicon of New Testament Greek
Biblical Studies & Commentaries
“Endorsements As evangelical Protestants we believe in sola scriptura. We are committed, therefore, to discovering the meaning of the Scriptures, which means that we must study the Scriptures with intensity and rigor. This invaluable tool assists us in the task of careful exegesis and should be warmly welcomed.”
An Intertextual Commentary on Romans, Volume 2
Biblical Studies & Commentaries
“In this fascinating and enlightening book, Crisler considers the Old Testament matrix that lies behind Romans 5–8, chapters that play a formative role in the letter. Insights and connections abound, and we are reminded in a fresh way that Romans wasn’t written in isolation—that there is a canon consciousness informing Paul as he writes. Crisler helps us to see a wider framework, and we can be grateful since we will never mine fully all the riches of what many consider to be Paul’s most important letter.”

“I love this book on how to study and apply the Bible. Some books on interpreting Scripture are so complicated and have so many steps that we can become discouraged, but Harmon is simple and clear without being simplistic. He helps us see the big picture in studying the Bible by reminding us of the storyline of Scripture and by emphasizing that the story centers on Jesus himself. At the same time, we are given very practical advice on how to study and apply specific passages. An excellent resource for teachers, students, and all who desire to study the Scriptures.”

“Wilkins and Thoennes have provided an ideal introduction for students who want to become acquainted with biblical and theological studies. The book is concise and brief while covering an astonishing number of topics. Most importantly, the authors are sure-footed and faithful guides in both biblical studies and theology.”
Church Leadership & Ministry
“Faithful preaching and teaching not only zooms in on a particular text but also zooms out and considers the storyline of the whole Bible. Nick Roark and Robert Cline show how biblical theology is essential for the church, for preaching, and for living. They survey the big picture of the Scriptures and show us some wrong turns that are commonly made. A very helpful resource for pastors, teachers, and laypeople.”
Theology
“The book of Revelation is daunting and even discouraging for some believers, and we have a tendency to ignore it. Nancy Guthrie has written a wonderfully clear, accessible, and faithful interpretation of the book. The theological vision of the book is captured in her exposition, but the book doesn't stop there. Guthrie explains in a remarkable way how the book of Revelation applies to us today. Laypeople, students, and anyone who wants to understand the book of Revelation will profit from reading and studying this book.”
