Can a Renewal Movement Be Renewed?
Church Leadership & Ministry
“Kinnamon draws on an immense wealth of experience to ask hard questions on what is hindering the ecumenical movement from moving forward as an effective and vital force. His suggestions are affirmative, bold, and clear -- and, perhaps more importantly, doable. This book is a must for any who are honest enough humbly to admit a crisis of diminishing energy in the formal ecumenical movement but are nonetheless committed to the renewal of authentic Christian unity as a central and critical task for gospel witness in today's world!”
Biblical Studies & Commentaries
“Unquestionably, God has graced T. Patrick Jensen with a remarkable depth of psychological insight into human nature and being, but also with an amazing ability to integrate biblical and theological truth with pastoral and practical experience. In reading Legacy, I was informed and, frankly, often deeply moved. I highly recommend Legacy for pastors and church leaders—and to anyone earnestly desiring to receive and bequeath a precious spiritual endowment that outlasts our own generation.”
Theology
“Timothy Laurito’s Pentecostal Perspectives ably demonstrates that a Pentecost experience of the Holy Spirit is not an isolated incident in the life of a believer but a way of approaching—and navigating—all of faith and practice in one’s walk with Jesus Christ. He writes in an accessible and winsome style yet with biblical and theological substance. Anyone who has ever wondered, at least to themselves, ‘What difference does Pentecost make for the Christian life?’ will find this work helpful.”
Church Leadership & Ministry
“Patrick Jensen is a gift to ‘the household of faith’ (Gal 6:10). The truth of this statement certainly includes his calling and gifting as a writer. Setting in Order is an excellent example. As a theologian, I appreciate Pastor Jensen’s ecclesial passion as he vigorously articulates a vibrant ministerial and, as is quite apparent, a truly pastoral vision which is relational, especially in a covenantal sense, and, most of all, familial. Jensen’s writing is both insightful and articulate. His distinctive ability to relate and integrate biblical, historical, and theological truth with scientific research and real-life experience is remarkable. For anyone desiring to understand better Paul’s first-century writing to Titus, this work will be helpful. For any desiring to apply it today to their own church family, it will quickly become an essential aid.”
The Holy Spirit in the Christian Life
Theology
“Finally! Here is a book that corrects longstanding bilateral lacunae in pneumatology. The Holy Spirit in the Christian Life has theological breadth and depth as well as pastoral and practical applications. Not only does it adroitly and incisively address existing theological lacunae in the Reformed and Lutheran traditions regarding pneumatology and provide serious engagement of developing Pentecostal pneumatologies; it is also well-written, making it both instructive and enjoyable. With Peterson’s personable style and careful scholarship, this text is a must-read. Definitely recommended!”
