Church of Our Granddaughters

Theology

Foreword

(wrote the foreword)

Churchly Joy

Prayer & Spiritual Formation

“These magnificent homilies are not just richly scriptural. The poetry of Orthodox hymnody runs through them, and they are companionate with the great festal iconography of the Church. We are fortunate that Sergius Bulgakov distilled the profound theological insights of his great works into these illuminating orations that will inspire Christians in all walks of life.”

Modern Orthodox Thinkers

History & Biography

“Through the lives and thought of a score of Orthodox theologians, Andrew Louth shows the distinctiveness of their theology, grounded not in academic concepts and constructs but rather in prayer, paths toward holiness and the experience of the living church. A thoroughly engaging introduction to the ways of modern Orthodox theology.”

Preaching and Professing

Preaching & Worship

“What makes these sermons so intellectually rich and religiously moving is that Ralph Wood is both an accomplished scholar and an inspired interpreter of Scripture. His Preaching and Professing is a veritable feast of wisdom for our spiritually starved times.”

Tasting Heaven on Earth

Preaching & Worship

“We have histories of Byzantium and Byzantine worship, but nothing quite like this beautiful volume that invites the reader to explore the world of Byzantium through its worship. This is a rich and luxuriously illustrated anthology, a kind of museum in print that makes tangible to readers the lived faith of this ancient Christian culture through its music, poetry, hymnody, iconography, and architecture.”

The Golden Cord

Marriage, Family & Relationships

“The important lesson this clear and thoughtful book teaches is that the moral education of the child is the work of family and church, and that story is at the heart of this education. . . . Saint John Chrysostom is a loadstar because he understood that the family is itself an ecclesial entity and that all children are disciples of Christ under the vocation of Christian parenthood.”
