Philosophy

“"I've been struck by the timeliness of these essays. Gilson's prediction about the future of scholasticism has come true: historical research is indeed placing philosophy into its theological context (but this has led to the dismissal of thomists focusing on Thomas's philosophy). Anslem's proof involves not causality but entailment: 'necessarily, if God is thought, He is thought as necessary,' a reading not unlike many proposed today.”
