History & Biography
“These engaging memoirs provide a rare window onto an era, and indeed into a godly heart. After reading these pages, I have finally understood why John Frame thinks and writes so lyrically. It's because he has the soul of a musician.”
Christian Living
“The person and work of Francis Schaeffer had a nearly measureless influence on generations of people—believers and unbelievers alike. As he himself proclaimed, his views on Christian spirituality were the basis of everything important he ever did. In this new edition, Crossway has made the seminal text available once again. These pages are as fresh and compelling today as they were when they were first penned. Schaeffer’s approach to what we call sanctification will repay the reader with a deeper and more consistent walk. Everyone should have a copy and be blessed by the contents.”
Theology
“Truth with Love powerfully demonstrates that while Schaeffer's thought stands up to scrutiny, it is his distinctive style that enabled him to herald the Christian message with such compelling power.”
Philosophy
“This book is full of insights. Written by a trained philosopher, it mounts a thoughtful defense of the link between beauty and the divine. There are many vehicles facilitating this connection. One of them is imagination. Art can illuminate our world, and the best artists do this remarkably. Drawing from ancient philosophy, modern fantasy, and especially the Bible, Dennis Bray introduces the reader to the way 'beauty will save the world' (Dostoevsky).”
Ethics, Culture & Social Issues
“This book is timely. It has a number of virtues. First, it is about the whole of critical theory and not just race questions. Second, it does not shy away from embracing various positive aspects of critical theorists, even while it exposes their errors. Third, it conjoins the subject to contemporary issues such as hate speech. Fourth, and most important, it scrutinizes each topic with Scripture. Even if this subject is not on your radar, you will benefit enormously from this book’s approach. A must read for anyone wishing to interact with a powerful branch of current analysis.”
Whatever Happened to the Human Race?
Christian Living
“When Whatever Happened to the Human Race? was first published, it was considered alarmist. Euthanasia and infanticide were deemed unthinkable. Today, after scandals from Planned Parenthood and the ethics of Peter Singer, we’re not so shocked. The most important Christian doctrine for our times is that of the image of God. It speaks unequivocally to the dignity, the sanctity, and the nobility of the human race. Today this volume, coauthored by Francis Schaeffer and Everett Koop, is as fresh as ever and deserves a wide readership.”
