Conformed to the Image of Christ

Theology

“How can we know whether a sense of direction or experience is from God? In Conformed to the Image of Christ, Bryan Shuler explores the history of Christian spirituality and draws on insights from systematic theology to build his case for a Christ-centered criterion of spiritual discernment. Shuler’s contribution will serve theology students well in both academic study and spiritual formation.”

Constructing a Theology of Prayer

Theology

“Matthew Bryant’s reconstruction and analysis of Andrew Fuller’s theology of prayer skillfully employ the fields of historical theology, systematic theology, and spiritual formation. Highly recommended!”

Eat the Bible

Theology

“Micah Chung prepares and serves a biblical-theological feast, exploring the neglected metaphor of Scripture as food. Eat the Bible is well written, theologically robust, and biblically grounded. Bon appétit!”

Molinist Philosophical and Theological Ventures

Philosophy

“MacGregor, a leading advocate for Molinism, provides a biblical-philosophical defense of the perspective. He argues that Molinism provides the best explanation of the biblical data for difficult topics such as divine sovereignty, human freedom, predestination, and God’s universal salvific will. . . . Even readers not persuaded to affirm Molinism must grapple with the strong case MacGregor has constructed in his book.”

Pastoral Theology in the Baptist Tradition

Christian Living

“Creech’s examination of the biblical, historical, and theological foundations of pastoral ministry adds a distinctly Baptist voice to this field of study. Creech explores the who of pastoral ministry as well as the what of pastoral roles of prophet, priest, and servant. Along the way, he addresses with care and skill an issue on which Baptists differ: the ordination of women as pastors. Creech’s study will challenge readers to think through their philosophy of ministry, and the book deserves a place on any course syllabus used in preparing pastors for Christian ministry.”

Small Church, Excellent Ministry

Church Leadership & Ministry

“In Small Church, Excellent Ministry, Jeffrey Farmer gathers a team of pastor-scholars who provide biblical and practical guidance for those who serve in smaller membership churches. The resultant book will be a blessing for those pastors and a much-needed resource for the church.”

The Hexagon of Heresy

Theology

“In The Hexagon of Heresy, Jim Gifford proposes that a strong view of divine simplicity, derived from outside of biblical revelation, formed a paradigm which resulted in the christological heresies and continues to distort Western Christian theology. His thesis is complex and controversial but if he is correct, then his work serves as a call to rerun to Scripture and Jesus for shaping all Christian doctrine.”

The Moral Governmental Theory of Atonement

Theology

“Obbie Todd examines the writings of New Divinity and contemporary theologians to provide an extensive historical-theological analysis of the moral governmental theory of atonement. The result is a well-researched and significant contribution to the field of atonement studies.”

The Spirit and the Lake of Fire

Theology

“In The Spirit and the Lake of Fire, Rustin Umstattd exposes, then fills, a gap in the fields of biblical studies and systematic theology on the work of the Holy Spirit. The author presents four biblical motifs to argue the Holy Spirit is the Father's agent for righteous and loving judgment in the Son. I highly recommend this book.”
