Re-Reading the Prophets through Corporate Globalization

Biblical Studies & Commentaries

“With a thorough and nuanced application of cultural evolutionary theory, Coomber has produced an excellent economic analysis of eighth-century Judah in its context of Neo-Assyrian imperialism, while also arguing that twentieth-century Tunisia’s shift from a mixed subsistence economy to a market driven economy exhibited similar patterns of the peasant exploitation by elites that Isaiah and Micah condemned.”

Reality, Grief, Hope

Ethics, Culture & Social Issues

“Through a carefully nuanced analogy with the destruction of Jerusalem in 587 B.C.E., Brueggemann's Reality, Grief, Hope presents a passionate and timely exploration of the theological crises that have infected the U.S., particularly since the 9/11 attacks. . . . A splendid work of public theology!”
