Biblical Studies & Commentaries

“Owen Cummings, ever the gifted teacher, expertly facilitates engagement with the Lukan infancy narrative and its main characters. He draws upon a variety of interpretive perspectives, and he demonstrates the relevance of historical investigation (including of the Jewish roots of Christianity) and appreciation of the evangelist’s literary-midrashic artistry for Christian life. For those seeking intellectually serious and spiritually nourishing reflections on rich biblical texts and their significance for devotion to Mary/Miriam of Nazareth, this book should not be missed!”
