A Burning House

Ethics, Culture & Social Issues

“Prophetic truth is hard truth. It demands that we see what we would rather ignore and do what we would rather neglect. But prophetic truth is also hopeful truth, for it points us to One who redeems all things. This book speaks prophetic truth, in equal measure hard and hopeful. It calls us to look at our history and our present honestly, to see our place in both, to grieve, and to repent. And then it lifts our gaze to a vision of gospel-centered redemption that inspires and commands. Evangelicals need this book. Even more they need to heed its voice.”

Encountering the History of Missions

History & Biography

“Church history is the history of Christian missions. Yet that history remains buried treasure for far too many Christians. This carefully crafted book excavates the rich legacy of those who have contributed to the expansion of a local renewal movement within Israel into a global worshiping community. Far from a dry recitation of dates and places, Terry and Gallagher have given us compelling narratives of the lives of missionaries from every generation and continent.”

Theology

“This book dives headlong into a theological and pastoral problem that has vexed the Church for generations: namely, God's election of some unto salvation but not others. Classical theological paradigms have created more division than unity in addressing this issue. Approaching the question as a biblical theologian, Bill Klein has shown us a way forward. This book deserves careful consideration by those from all theological perspectives. I commend it to you without reservation.”
